Mac Watson boarded the horses for the 1985 International Plowing Match.

The horsemen took up a collection in a hat and commissioned me to do a painting as a small token of their gratitude.

I painted the “Judging of the Plow Horses”. 
Mac took his oxen to local plowing matches and is seen here in Elgin leading the oxen while John Hauser of West Lorne plows, circa mid 1980’s.

This is the way much of Ontario’s farm fields were first cultivated. - Jenny
