I considered Clayton and his wife to be dear friends.

I can’t recall how many paintings I did of Clayton and his beautiful Belgian Horses.

He is seen here plowing at an Elgin County plowing match.

I’ve always been partial to Belgians because my father plowed at matches with them but I had never seen a sulky plow until our family moved from Waterloo County to Elgin.
